How to tell a real sale deal from a fake one

Ignore the MRP. Many listings show an MRP that nobody ever pays, so “60% off” can mean nothing. Compare today’s price with what the product usually sells for. A price-history site or the product’s own price graph helps.

Check the seller. On the product page, look at “Sold by”. For expensive items, buy from the brand or a well-known seller, and avoid sellers with few ratings.

Count the bank offer separately. Card discounts often apply only above a minimum order value or with a specific card. Work out what you’ll actually pay before you decide.

Look past the price. A cheap treadmill with a 1-year warranty and no service centre in your city isn’t a deal. Our guides list the warranty and the common complaints for each pick.

Check stock and delivery. Big items like treadmills and chairs can take longer to deliver during sales. Check the delivery date and whether installation is included.

Don’t buy it just because it’s on sale. If it wasn’t on your list before the sale, give it a day.
